Jennifer Bonasia began her career in the home building industry. For over 20 years, she oversaw the sales and construction of thousands of homes in San Diego county for a large public homebuilder. In 2007, Jennifer left home building to start her own company, Pacific Shoreline GC & Design. After so many years building homes, residential design is certainly a specialty of hers but she also loves commercial and hospitality design. Jennifer graduated from the Interior Designers Institute with her Bachelors in Interior Architecture and is trained for all types of design. She also has studied Green technologies and incorporates sustainable practices in each of her projects.

Design Challenge
The home while having great potential was overly formal and a little bit stuffy. It was a perfect example of interior design of the 1980's.
The Objective
It was our intention to create a more contemporary and comfortable space to match our client's lifestyle.
The Lesson
Contrasting textures and colors add vibrancy to the space. Top photo: The brick used at the barrel vaulted ceiling helped to define the space particularly when mirrored by the French Oak flooring. The columns and marble floors remained in the entry and when contrasted with the new materials they looked grand but not stodgy. The brilliant colors chosen for the furnishings added life and a youthful countenance to each room while creating continuity throughout the home.
Products from Design Alliance
For this Rancho Santa Fe project we used Design Alliance for all fabrics and most furnishings. This project had a generous budget and we were able to really optimize our selections. Our fabric choices included Kravet, Reynaldo, JF Fabrics, and IN Fabrics for upholstered furniture. Furniture pieces were chosen from Stanley, Lexington, Hooker, and Comfort Design and we designed two custom pieces currently patent pending which were manufactured by Pacific Design in Los Angeles.
Also we ordered a custom high loop wool area rug created by Delos. Window Treatments were expertly made by Window Elegance using fabrics from GP & Baker (Kravet), Highland Court, Robert Allen, Kravet, and Norb.
