I began Art a la Carte as an art business in early 1998, after a long career as a banking executive. With art as my passion I started with small art shows in my home that quickly launched me into a full time career doing fine art, murals, trompe l’oeil, fine decorative wall finishes such as Venetian plaster and complex and simple faux finishes, as well as furniture painting and cabinetry refinishing.
After ten years, as the stress of such a physical job began to take its toll, I moved towards interior design. Many of my existing art clients requested my help with their design needs. These successes encouraged my interest and I have evolved into a successful career in interior design. My lifetime motto has always been “love what you do, and go the extra mile.” And I do!

The Design Challenge
To find additional closet space in a 4,000 square foot home, with a master closet literally the size of a shoe box at 8’x5’ and no room to expand in any direction.
The Objective
Use the closest available space to create a glamorous dressing room, closet/powder bath and cozy personal retreat that also serves as a guest bathroom.
The Lesson
Think outside the “box.” By reconfiguring a strangely shaped family room we killed three birds with one stone, carving out a space that creatively met the client’s needs.

As our reigning DESIGN STAR, your photo, contact info, career bio, project pix and description will not only be prominently featured on our website, but also on our Design Alliance Facebook page, as well as in our newsletter!
Additionally, all of the above information and photos will be beautifully framed and on display in our Vista showroom for the entire month.

Here's how you can make it shine and be seen!
Simply email (or drop by) a photo of one of your favorite projects. It can be commercial or residential, dramatic or fun... or maybe a unique idea application or theme. Be sure to include a short project description.
Submissions must be received by the 25th of each month to be considered for the following month's DESIGN STAR spotlight.
